About Us

NYC Softball League was founded in the summer of 2009 by roommates Cullen Shaw and Andrew White. Matt Copple later joined as co-commissioner in 2013 and has been heading up the league as commissioner since 2015. The three set out to create something that wasn’t overly competitive but wouldn’t be considered a social sports league. The first division was 5 teams and the league now serves close to 300 teams per year.

We offer coed and men’s leagues in the spring, summer, and fall seasons. We have been fortunate enough to work with amazing team captains, umpires, and players as we’ve grown into one of the largest sports leagues in NYC.
